Individual’s body decomposed for 8 months inside vehicle at airport Bunch as Household searched

KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Distraught family members want answers following a lost Kansas man’s body has been discovered  in a parked car at a Kansas City airport months following his disappearance.

Kansas City police confirmed Friday that Randy Potter’s badly decomposed body has been  recovered by his truck at Kansas City International, eight months following the Lenexa dad was last observed.

On Tuesday, officers at KCI discovered his truck after getting reports of a horrible smell coming from the parking lot. In the driver’s seat, police discovered that the body so badly decomposed that they couldn’t immediately determine the race or sex.

Investigators later affirmed that the body belonged to Randy Potter, they consider shot his own life, based on WDAF.

Potter’s relatives insists investigators dropped the ball and say someone ought to have discovered him long before then.

“Emotionally it has been very, very tough trip,” his wife, Carolina Potter, said. “The not knowing the sleepless nights”

She states the painful mystery began   January 17th when her husband, who worked as a director with T-Mobile, left their home rather than arrived at work.

Carolina says she and her family did everything they could to locate her husband, such as hiring a private investigator, according to The Kansas City Star. Strangers also fanned out about Lenexa searching for the lost 54-year-old husband, dad and dear friend.

“The only thing I advised them (was), ‘I don’t know if I could find him. I don’t have any idea if I could locate him, but I cannot quit searching for him'” Carolina said.

A worried and weary Carolina said they filed a missing persons report with the police department, but there were not any signs of her spouse until eight months later.

“My husband could have been found in the first — I am gonna be very generous — in the first week, ” OK,” Carolina said.

“The simple fact he sat there for that long is disgusting,”    daughter Nichole Potter said.

The Potter family is furious since they say the Lenexa Police Department,  KCI and airport officers all dropped the ball. With their attorney by their side, the household spoke out Friday, saying they don’t want another family to undergo their unimaginable pain.

“I do not wish this to nobody,” Carolina said. “Nobody should go through this.”

Chris Hernandez, the town’s spokesman, sent the next statement to WDAF:

“The town of Kansas City along with its own aviation department communicate our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of all randy potter. We want them peace during this tricky time. We’re working with all parties to find out the fact involved, including S-P Plus, which manages the 25,000 parking areas at Kansas City International Airport.”
